Jenny was 17 years old and not sure what do with her life. She wasn't getting good grades in school. She really didn't think college was for her. More importantly, she just didn't feel like she fit in anywhere. A high school teacher recommended that she participate in the YWCA's Cafe Y program - a culinary arts training program designed to teach life and leadership skills to high school students. Jenny's experience in Cafe Y has helped her find a new calling and confidence.
She is now enrolled at a local culinary school, and is looking forward to a career in the restaurant industry. Jenny believes that she wouldn't have found this path and passion had it not been for the helping hands of the YWCA. Cafe Y is just one example of the learning and growth opportunities we can offer to women of all ages.
